Alot of the game mechanics in certain missions are designed to promote more teamplayers instead of less, which is why it may become nearly impossible in later parts of the game. Most of the designed builds that were succesful were meant to farm, and not necessary complete any particular quest goals. I can imagine how difficult this experiment would be at Aurora Glade.

A warrior and a support unit can get through everything in Prophecies. Ring of Fire can be difficult, thought, and requires good planning and some luck.
Diablo, it's possible to solo Aurora Glade and the bonus in one go.

I'd like to see a duo try the Dunes bonus without the necro exploit...

I think it would be possible with a 55 monk and a famine ranger or SS necro.
Run ascalon --> beacon's --> droks --> iron mines.
Iron mines is a pushover.
THK is the only real sticking point... I guess the monk would have to work hard to aggro mobs coming from both gates so they don't get to the king. Plus, all those dolyak mesmers and their massive degen would hurt.
Then do final blow, avoiding flesh golems and their rend enchant.
I don't think there's anything that could easily kill a 55 in Ring of Fire.
Abaddon's mouth would be pretty similar. A ranger or N/Me is able to shut down the bosses, otherwise it's same mobs as in RoF.
In precipice you'll probably have to switch up builds because 55ing it would be suicidal. Constant burning, strip enchants and the Lich has lifesteal, but that mission is really easy with a regular group, so you could probably do it 2-man.
Basically, I think it's possible, but you'll have to be damn good and creative with builds on top of that.

I dont hav any particular suggestions. but if people found a way to solo and dual the DoA, then I believe there would be no trouble dualing the campaign.

I don't know how "by the book" you're being. When you say you're limiting yourself to the Prophecies campaign, I assume that means no assassin, ritualist, paragon or dervish builds? What about skills from the other campaigns, are those allowed?
In theory, I'd think you'd want versatility, so my hunch would be going with a ranger and a monk - except I'm not sure how you'd get past the front door of Abaddon's mouth.

We tried it already, but after Lions Arch its quite impossible since you get chain-pacified, DOT'ed up, interrupted like there is no tomorrow. How do you even stand a chance against a group of 4-6 casters that will just instant-refresh their spells on you?
I wondered if its doable, and if so, with what team-kombination?

Forget about it! GW game i so reach then you will be stopped later anyway.
2 ppl <<< mobs in the most missions. 2 ppl with their heroes is perfectly OK thou.
A few tricks like using runners or high-level characters IMO does not match your setup.

Try to trap the hell out of the stairs maybe? If you can kill Aatxes you can probably kill Mursaat.
You can easily run Sanctum Cay as well with a warrior using Healing Hands, but I have no idea how you would generate enough damage to kill the Lich.

Activate the bonus and you will have some Jade armours and Mursats doing most of the fighting for you, and a good healing monk to keep the King alive.

Sure. In pvp they'd rip you up. But in pve? A W/D with mystic regen and pious restoration and a monk bonder can handle pretty much anything as long as you watch your aggro. You should of course target them first, as anyone relying on enchants would anyway.

u think that is hard, when u manage to kill all titans in chamber 3 of foundry in 1 wave easy than u will know that killing 6 csters with 2 men is a piece of cake

very true the thing is that not huge mobs are hard to take and kill what is hard is boses which require specific skill sets to kill
i would love to see 2 man trying to kill villa the unpleasnt since 1 of the aprty members would actualy have to be a mesmer or a spelcaster shut down specialized char
